This Journal is Friends Only (Sorta)

Okay babies. If you want me to friend you so you can read personal posts, tell me here.

Remember, the fics and anything to do with them, character queries, graphics, discussion, bloopers, whatever, will remain public. It's just the personal posts that I'm locking down.

So just tell me here. Don't have to tell me why. Just leave a smiley face or tell me a knock knock joke (please god, don't take that literally, I have enough bad jokes in my head) or lick me or you can go ahead and say why you want to stay if you feel like making my day better.

Just leave a comment.

Clik here to see which of your favorite stories have been published as original fiction and are available to buy!

Come on people, the Russians ain't so bad! It can't be any worse than 6Apart, and I hear the original creator of LJ is back in the picture.

But still. InsaneJournal, while not as customizable as LJ, or....I'm still weirded out by how it looks, but anyway. They're having a sale on permanently insane accounts. They're only $35, as opposed to what was it, $150 here?

I made an account over there not long ago, in case the Russians go all Red October on us. I'm mandarou over there. Feel free to friend me. I'm going to try to copy this journal to that one.

Again, let me be clear. I'm not jumping ship. Yet. I hold out hope that this move is actually a good one. But, just in case, I'm going to try and start crossposting at InsaneJournal too, so that if I do have to jump ship, it'll be an easier transition.

TEST
This is Amanda, AKA legomyarrow at LiveJournal. There's nothing here yet, as I'm still getting the hang of this thing and trying to make it look a little like home.

Hopefully, I'll be backing up my LJ account here in the very near future. Feel free to friend me here, at this point I'm very lonely.

I feel really good about the fact that I need to go out and buy more holiday cards to send. If you haven't asked for yours yet, leave your address at my card post and I'll send you one. I'd love to get one in return to break in the lonely condo in Richmond.

Also, even if you think I have your address already, I don't want to send cards to anyone who doesn't want them this year for whatever reason. So I'm starting fresh this year. The only people getting cards are the ones on that post (as opposed to last year, when no one got cards.....)

I started trying to polish off the condo so I could take pictures. It turned into an operation that needed a power drill, so no pictures yet....

Mission Notes:

While it is generally ill-advised to use Kitty A's tail to taunt
Kitty B, it is quite entertaining, all the same.

Rarely do you get to utter the words 'get her head out of your
mouth!' and have it be completely appropriate to a situation.

This was brought to my attention by [info]lothiriel_1, regarding sending holiday cards to wounded soldiers at Walter Reed.

Walter Reed cannot accept these packages in support of the decision by then Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Transportation Policy in 2001. This decision was made to ensure the safety and well being of patients and staff at medical centers throughout the Department of Defense.

So. Don't do that. Instead, if you have your heart set on making a soldier smile, go here.

Okay, I guess it's Holiday Card time already! I've got a new address this year, and I need a new count of addresses from everyone who wants a card from me, because I flaked out last year and had surgery and couldn't write when I was supposed to be doing this.

So. Under the cut. )

[edit again] So apparently sending something to 'any recovering soldier' is not possible.
